Samsung guarantees three ‘generations’ of Android OS updates from S10 Series, S20 Series, Note 10 series & Note 20 series & some A series

Samsung is promising to “support three generations of Android updates” for Galaxy phones, but that won’t apply to all the phones it makes. Samsung says it will happen for phones from the Galaxy S10 and newer.

Federico Casalegno, Samsung’s global SVP, said that Samsung is “supporting your operating system for three generations of devices.” While he said it, on the screen, it showed a headline that said “OS updates up to three generations” and then “latest features” and “latest security.”

    Samsung Galaxy S series

In the Galaxy S series, Samsung has promised three years of Android updates to all Galaxy S10 and S20 variants.

As for the Galaxy S10 series, you can expect Android 12 to be its last update. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S20S20 Plus, and S20 Ultra are in line to get Android 13 in the future. Samsung has also said that the S20 series will be the first to get Android 11 later this year, followed by other devices.
